Way of working: transparent and accountable

These are the steps you can expect when you contact John Burger. Depending on the complexity of the issue, these steps may vary in duration.
​MEET
​We meet to get acquainted, get an impression of initial direction and to see if there is enough personal chemistry to work together well. ​If there is a match in substance and style, talk of a possible assignment becomes more specific.
​​EXPLORE
​Some companies prefer a Request for Proposal procedure, especially if they are choosing between several suppliers; some ask for a simple estimate or a preliminary plan.
DEAL
In principle work is billed by the hour, but day rates are possible (especially for interim management work).
ANALYSIS
​​Depending on the size of the assignment, this phase may include desk research, observation, interviews, reporting and modelling.
​AGREE
​Analysis is shared for two reasons: to make sure everyone understands the issues in the same way and to enable everyone to become part of the solution.
SOLVE
​​Proposing solutions should flow naturally from shared understanding about the issues at hand, but takes into account current best practice and current company context.
COMMIT
When we agree on analysis and solutions we need all relevant people involved to commit to the implementation.
EXECUTE
​​This is the hardest part. The quality of execution is the most important aspect of any task, project or programme.
​REVIEW
​We will measure and monitor progress and check to see if any steps need to be repeated or done differently.
